Sessional Lecturer Design

Hester Buck is a member of the critical design practice, public works, a not-for-profit studio set up to explore the intersection between architecture, art, performance and activism.
Her projects address our relationship to landscape and nature within urban public space. Her current research focuses on the celebration of green spaces within post-war social housing estates, as a form of urban common ground, through the planting of community orchards. She explores the role of green spaces projects as a tool to actively engage the wider public in discussions around socio-political issues within the urban realm.
