Michael Thomas

Senior Lecturer in Interior Architecture & Design, Farnham



Michael has been a practicing Interior Designer since graduating from the University of Brighton, being involved in a wide range of sectors including Commercial Design, Retail Design, Hotel and Leisure Design, as well as Residential Design – both in the UK and abroad. Clients have included British Airport Authority (BAA), Black and Decker, Tote Bookmakers, The Washington Mayfair Hotel, and Fuller’s Brewery. Having achieved a PGCHE from Kingston University, Michael’s teaching experience started in 2000 at the now University for the Creative Arts at Farnham, as a senior lecturer in Interior Architecture and Design, – teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level – as well as contributing to various Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Michael continues to participate in a range of live projects alongside of his academic career, and was part of the Overall Winning Design Team at the Waverley Design Awards, for the Farnham Castle “900 years of Living History” exhibition.
