Evolo success for Canterbury

As a part of my studio agenda this year, The sublime and the Horizon, which focusses on the near future of the Kent coast, 5th year students were asked to submit proposals for the Evolo Skyscraper competition. This prestigious international design competition this year attracted 715 projects from five continents and 95 different countries and included professional and student entries, many of which were teams rather than individual entrants.

We got 2 honourable mentions, Gary Kellett and Akram Fahmi - a great result for a small school entering solo projects, which were given only  a short time to develop schemes. Gary and Akram both produced excellent, polemical proposals, which were beautifully presented and which clearly split the judging - as in my view they both should have won!
