SYN City
Pictures of an Exhibition

Here a few glimpses of projects that are currently on display in the MArch Work in Progress Show in the Herbert Read Gallery.

SYN City is a postgraduate research & design studio at UCA Canterbury School of Architecture. This academic year, students on the Master of Architecture (ARB/RIBA part 2) and the MA Urban Design programmes work on the themes of territoriality, the politics of space and the spatial consequences of politics. Augmented by two sites in Plymouth and Antarctica, the studio focuses on Gibraltar as its main geographical and geopolitical context. Today a British Overseas Territory under the sovereignty of the United Kingdom, Gibraltar’s territorial status has been contested for centuries.
